Ant capping compromise
Properly placed ant capping must be continuous without any breaks or gaps or penetrations.
Termites can penetrate an area the width of cigarette paper whilst foraging for food sources and they are great opportunists and will capitalize on any errors made during the construction period.
This ant capping is non compliant and non functioning due to the easy access afforded to the termites by the gap in the ends of the ant capping.
Under normal circumstances termites would be forced around the ant capping where their mud tubes become evident during building and pest inspections.
Termite damage is often found by the pest and building inspector's in areas not normally accessed by the house holder.
