Paving around the house

An apron of paving of 900mm is recommended around the building, with a fall away of 50mm in the first metre.
One of the checks that our building inspector does to the falls to the paths. 
If the path is falling towards the house than this will allow water to pond at the footings.

Paving must be no less than 100mm below brick air vents.
