Pool Fencing
From 1992 to 2001 73 children drowned in residential in ground and above ground pools in Queensland.
That is nealy 8 per year.
Currently there are over 310,000 residential outdoor pools in Queensland.
For every drowning death there are 14 children treated following an
immersion incident. Many suffer brain damage due to lack of oxygen.
Pool fencing laws require a pool owner to construct and maintain a fence around the pool regardless of when it was installed.

Refer to your local council for regulations and requirements concerning pool fencing.
Pool and pool fencing inspectors must hold the appropriate licence.
Pro-Check Building Services recommends that you organise for both of these inspections before purchase.
