Paving around a house – Brisbane

An apron of paving of 900mm is recommended around the building, with a fall away of 50mm in the first metre.
If the path is falling towards the house than this will allow water to pond at the footings.

Our Brisbane building inspector finds many paths back falling towards the building and this is also on new homes before handover at practical completion stage. In a new property this is deemed defective work.

Paving must be no less than 100mm below brick air vents.
