Brisbane Flooded buildings documentation required

Where buildings have been partially or completely in undated with flood waters, then evidence will need to be provided that the builders have complied with all the requirements during the renovation process.
1. A Sanitization document will be required to provide evidence of the spraying of affected areas has been completed and signed off on. A sticker is normally placed in the meter box.
2. Where timber framed walls were in use a moisture reading certificate will need to be provided to confirm the timbers were completely dried out prior to re sheeting. A normal 3 month drying out period is required for getting timber back to equilibrium moisture content.
3 Electrical safety and plumbing tests are also required.
4. Termite barrier inspections are required as external chemical treatment may need to be replenished.
5. In older properties a certificate of asbestos removal may also be available.
Our Brisbane building inspector does look for this sanitation sticker.
