Wet subfloor encourages termites – Brisbane building and pest inspection

Our  Brisbane building inspector  found Timber and other rubbish on the ground and dampness in the subfloor area during a Pre purchase building inspection.
This is ideal for pest habitation and encourages termites into the area.
The building and pest inspectors found that the ant capping to the timber stump has been compromised, allowing undetected access for termites into the dwelling.
These are common finds during our building and pest inspections and are easily avoided with good building practices and maintenance.

It is recommended that owners have their properties inspected by a licensed termite inspector and contractor at the recommended intervals for their particular property.
All rubbish should be removed from the subfloor and for the owners to conduct their own visual inspections around the property so that any issues are quickly referred to the professionals required and rectified quickly.

Subfloors should be dry and without timber or other rubbish. Good ventilation is important.
